I was taught that you can use “go out with” means only dating. Is it true?? I thought that meaning was only I go outside, so I used this word many times when I sent texts to friends. I’m embarrassed.

Grammar：Past Modal Verbs

・should have done：regret, past advice-criticism
・could have done：past possibility
・would have done：past willingness, 3rd conditional
➡could/would ：it depends on context…

I wouldn’t have done it.→grammar is ok but it’s not popular way
I couldn’t have done it.→it’s better

If I say
“I should have done that”→it means “regret”
”You sould have done that”→”advice, criticism”

・I wish I had done：imaginary situation and past
“If only I had done” is the same as “I wish I had done”, but not normal way

・I wish I was / If only I was：imaginary situation and present
・I wish I could do / If only I could do：ability and presentt
