今日のTOPICは New Year’s Day

まずは昨日の復習から。
Counterfeit productsは偽物の商品のことで、cheapでlow-quality。

偽札防止のために、watermark(透かし模様)・serial number・security fiber(見える線)がある。

・herring roe (n.)：かずのこ

説明できなかったこと

・鏡餅は丸いお餅を二つ重ねて神様をお迎えするために作る。新年の神様がそのお餅で過ごす。お正月のあとに、家族でその鏡餅を食べて幸せを祈る。

Kagamimochi piles up round rice cakes, which become god’s home.
After the New Year, we eat the Kagamimochi and wish them happiness.

日本のことなのに説明できないと悔しいですよね。おせち料理のことも、黒豆とかずのこの意味しか伝えられませんでした。毎年食べてるのに。
